Citizen Science Month 2025

  • Townsville, QLD Australia (map)

Citizen Science Month builds awareness of opportunities for all people to participate in science in meaningful ways. Nobody knows everything but everybody knows something and together, we can help solve local, regional, national and global challenges. Small acts, such as sharing a picture of a fish or a coral from the Great Barrier Reef, can help scientists better understand population changes and help protect this natural wonder. Join this amazing event, become a citizen scientist and explore the Museum of Underwater Art at the same time with its inspirational Ocean Sentinels sculptures honouring famous marine scientists and conservationists!

When: 1-30 April 2025
Where: MOUA, John Brewer Reef, Queensland, Australia
How: Book a diving or snorkelling trip to MOUA during 1-30 April 2025, take underwater photos of marine life and upload them to the MOUA John Brewer Reef iNaturalist project

Special Event: Join us with Adrenalin Dive on the 10th April as we go on a quest to find the illusive, rare and interesting species surrounding the Museum of Underwater Art and John Brewer Reef. https://scistarter.org/citizen-science-at-moua
